STX Europe’s yard in Florø is a well established shipyard with a long heritage.
The business started out in 1949 as manufacturer of equipment to the agriculture industry. In the last decades the business is recognised as a shipyard producing a high number of chemical and juice tankers to a worldwide market. Odfjell, Stolt Tankers, Jo Tankers and Aleuropa are all part of the customer list.
In 2010, STX Europe in Florø makes a strategic move and accelerates within the market for maintenance, repair and ship services for the whole range of ships, from offshore- and specialized vessels to tankers, ferries and coastal vessels. In the past, the yard has undertaken projects within the service/repair segment. Farstad, Bourbon, Havila, Hurtigruten, Fjord1, Olympic Shipping and Jebsen have all been provided such services from STX Europe in Florø.
