Peter Tennfjord has requested to resign from his position as President at Aker Yards, Langsten. Steinar Nerbøvik (46) has been appointed new President at the yard in Tomrefjord, and will take up the position from 01.08.2008. Nerbøvik has a long history from working in Aker Yards, and has since 2003 been a part of the top management at the American shipyard Aker Philadelphia. He holds a Master of Science in Ship Naval Engineering from NTNU in Trondheim, and was a naval architect at Aker Verdal and Aker Engineering before he from 1991 to 2003 was Design & Project Manager at Aker Yards, Langsten.
"We highly appreciate getting Steinar Nerbøvik back in Aker Yards. He has both local and international shipbuilding skills, and he already knows the shipyard, vessels, customers and co-workers at Langsten well. We are looking forward to getting a good colleague back on our team" says President, Offshore & Specialised Vessels Roy Reite.
Peter Tennfjord has had management responsibilities at Aker Yards for a number of years, and has now chosen to leave the position as Shipyards President. "After more than 27 years in the front line at several facilities in Aker Yards, I now wish to resign and take on new challenges" says Peter Tenfjord.
Tennfjord is in a dialogue with the management in Aker Yards regarding a possible alternative position in the corporation. "I have had the pleasure of cooperating with Peter Tennfjord for many years, and I appreciate his contributions to the offshore units in Aker Yards. I understand his decision to take on new challenges" says Roy Reite
