Aker Yards has signed a contract with Volstad Shipping AS, Ålesund, for the building of a Platform Supply Vessel worth approximately NOK 250 million. Delivery is scheduled for February 2007 from Brattvaag Skipsverft.
The vessel has the designation ST 216 L by Skipsteknisk AS, with focus on environmentally friendly and safe operations.
The vessel will be 93.4 meters long, 19.2 meters wide, and will have a maximum cargo capacity of 5000 tonnes. The hull will be built in Romania.
The contract also includes an optional agreement for a similar vessel.
