Aker Yards has been awarded contracts to build four container vessels for König & Cie. GmbH und Co. KG in Hamburg. The vessels to be built are of the newly developed type Aker CS 1700. The total contract value is approximately EUR 120 million.
In 2005 König & Cie. ordered four container vessels with 2,700 TEU in Aker Ostsee for delivery in 2007. With 41 vessels the Aker Ostsee shipyards in Germany reached the largest order reserve in its history. 23 vessels with a total contract value of approximately EUR 790 million were acquired in 2005 only.
