Aker Promar, a part of Aker Brattvaag AS, has been awarded a contract worth approximately NOK 280 million by NorSkan Offshore Ltda., Brazil, to build an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel .
Delivery from Aker Promar, is scheduled for June 2006. The vessel will be 80 meters long, and 18 meters wide.
NorSkan Offshore is an offshore supply vessel company owned by Solstad Offshore ASA and DOF ASA in Norway on a 50/50 basis, and is focusing on the strong Brazilian offshore vessel market.
The vessel will have the designation UT 722 L, designed by Rolls-Royce, which will also be a major supplier of equipment to the project.
Roy Reite, responsible for the Offshore Service Vessels business area in Aker Yards ASA states in a comment: "This contract confirms the good relationship we have with both DOF ASA and Solstad Offshore ASA. We are proud that they are coming back to Aker Yards to build this third vessel at Aker Promar".
