Aker Brattvaag, a part of Aker Yards ASA, has been awarded a contract worth approximately NOK 200 million by DOF ASA to build a platform supply vessel of the MT 6000 type.
Delivery from Søviknes Verft is scheduled for January 2006. The vessel will be 86 meters long, and 20 meters wide, and will have accomodation capacity for 24 persons.
DOF has at present a similar vessel under construction at Søviknes Verft for delivery in June 2005, and also a vessel of the design MT 6009 under construction at Brattvaag Skipsverft for delivery in October 2005. Aker Brattvaag has cooperated with DOF for a long time, and delivered several vessels to the company.
Roy Reite, responsible for the Offshore Service Vessels business area in Aker Yards ASA states in a comment: "This contract confirms our long and good relationship with DOF. We are proud that they once again have decided to build at Aker Yards."
