STX Europe in Norway consist of the shipyards
Five of these shipyards are mainly outfitting yards for Offshore & Specialized Vessels. STX Europe's yard in Florø is a ship repair and conversion yard for the business area Other Operations
The yards Aukra, Brattvaag, Langsten and Søviknes are located at the northwest coast of Norway, all within one hours distance from each other.
The yards in Florø is located a few hours north of Bergen and Brevik is located 2 1/2 hour from Oslo.
The yards are important players in what can be described as one of the worlds most complete maritime clusters. This concentration of internationally oriented maritime expertise has provided great opportunities for product development and innovation.
All yards have extensive experience and long tradition in building various types of special vessels for customer’s worldwide.
The broad range of vessels types built by STX Europe in Norway includes platform supply vessels, anchor handlers, icebreakers, arctic vessels, fishing vessels, naval crafts, seismic vessels, coastguard vessels and chemical tankers. We have also delivered a lot of other complex and sophisticated vessel types like LNG powered car- and passenger ferries, research vessels, well intervention vessels, pipe laying vessels and rail- truck and passenger ferries.
More than 700 vessels have been delivered from the yards in Norway. STX Europe develops innovative conceptual solutions in close cooperation with our customers. An experienced team of engineers works seamlessly within STX Europe’s various design and development units to use the Group’s vast technology base and accumulated know-how to improve the performance of customer’s vessels.
